Lucy inspired the name “Blue Parrot” and was the model for its logo. The name was consistent
with the restaurant’s theme, as it features not only Mexican food, but also dishes from other
tropical Latin countries. The wine and spirits menu at the Blue Parrot Café was a late arrival,
appearing on our first anniversary, but its debut was a local event!

Consisting of the only signature drinks available anywhere in Greenwood, we offer our own
tropical rum Blue Parrot as well as The Delta, a distinctive blend of sweet whiskeys.
In addition, we offer a mixed drink as well as a long list of imported beers from each of the four
countries featured in our cuisine menu.  The more popular domestic beers are also available.

The Blue Parrot Café prides itself in always offering entertainment to its patrons. Your dining
experience at the Blue Parrot will always be enhanced, never overwhelmed, by musical talent
of the highest caliber. You will be enchanted by the primarily local artisans of blues, jazz and
original songwriting capabilities who perform for your listening and dining pleasure.

Blue Parrot Café   offers “fine latin cuisine”.  Specialties from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Italy. The food is prepared by
Regina LaVere a superb cook whose first such venture was a very successful restaurant in Santa Tecla, El Salvador (her native country)
which she named Antojitos Michoacán (meaning Mexican snacks).  Mrs. LaVere explains that the name for the restaurant originated
with another love of her life - BIRDS.  “I grew up in Central America around beautiful birds and delicious food,” she says. About 10 years ago,
while a stay-at-home mom, Mrs. LaVere began accumulating a flock of exotic birds.  Of the couple of dozen feathered beauties to whom
she oncewas mother hen, only four remain, the largest of which is a blue and gold macaw named Lucy, which she raised from a hatchling.
